Save Clean Energy Savings

The Reform Party councillors running Durham County Council are going to cost tax-payers money by stopping Lib Dem policies reducing council energy waste – including blocking solar energy panels on council buildings that would save £77,000 per year off council tax bills.

Saving on council energy bills means that council tax-payers will see better value for their money in the future, with Lib Dems helping deliver £13 million energy savings for Durham County Council in 2024 alone.

Lib Dem councillors helped lead the way in ensuring the council is not contributing to global emissions, and the solar scheme we're supporting would cut 60 tonnes of carbon each year. We believe that reaching net zero carbon emissions is smart business sense and good for our national energy security.

Please sign our petition for Durham County Councillors to stick to solar energy and net zero policies.
