Save NHS Dental Care in Deerness

Residents in Deerness are facing the loss of yet more NHS dental provision.

Burgess & Hyder Dental Practice in Esh Winning has informed patients that it will stop providing NHS dental services from 1 December 2026, leaving many local families searching for alternative NHS care at a time when NHS dental places are already extremely difficult to find.

Patients are being offered paid membership to remain with the practice, but private dental care is simply not affordable or accessible for everyone.

NHS dental places are already extremely difficult to find, even for those able to travel further afield. The loss of local provision creates an additional barrier for children, disabled people, and those with complex needs.
