Back Lib Dem calls for a Road Safety Review

26 Feb 2026

Every week, more and more residents raise concerns regarding road quality, safety and speeding. Despite this, in a recent meeting one Reform Party councillor claimed "Durham's roads are safe".

Clearly, the Reform Party councillors running Durham County Council are complacent about residents' real concerns on speeding and speed limits.

This is why Councillor Alex Neil and Durham Liberal Democrats are launching their petition for a road safety review. This would include a review of key problem areas with dangerous driving, with a review of speed limits as well as a review of road quality to identify needs for repairs.

Back out campaign: Sign the petition here and by doing so you are telling Durham's Reform Party bosses that Durham's roads need action.
