Alan was born in Bearpark and then lived in Pity Me, Durham City and Brandon before moving to Langley Moor 12 years ago.
After 33 years in the Civil Service and a brief spell at Colway Tyres, Alan became subpostmaster at Langley Moor Post Office in 1999.
He is married with one daughter and is interested in anything which will benefit the community of Langley Moor.
