Sir Menzies Campbell MP visits Durham

Former Lib Dem Leader Sir Menzies Campbell MP today visited Durham to see the completed swimming built by the Lib Dem Council and to speak to students at Durham University.
Having visited the construction site of the swimming pool during his time as party Leader, Sir Ming Campbell and a team of Lib Dem councillors took a guided tour of the new leisure complex at Freeman's Quay.
Sir Ming then fielded questions from the local student group at an informal Q&A session before appearing as the guest of honour at the local party's annual fund-raising dinner.
Sir Menzies said, "It has been a real joy to return to Durham and see the completion of the work that was underway when I came here just over a year ago. What's more, the work have been completed on time and on budget.
"Liberal Democrats in Durham are rightly proud of the work they have done to deliver such a superb facility for local residents.
"What is clear is that the Liberal Democrats have made a real difference to Durham. The next step is to elect Carol Woods as the Lib Dem MP for Durham to ensure local people have someone who puts their best interests first." |
