Heritage Preserved By Lib Dems

The Lib Dem-run City Council is to declare a Local Nature reserve in the City Centre.
The 8 hectere plot between Neville's Cross and Sniperley - important for its wonderful flora and fauna - is to be protected as the Lib Dems continue to balance progress in the City with preservation of our heritage.
Lib Dem Councillor for Elvet Sue Pitts said, "It is absolutely amazing to have a Local Nature Reserve right in the middle of town.
"It is the culmination of a great deal of work.
"Sadly, whilst we have secured the site for Durham we won't be permitted to look after it ourselves. Labour are scrapping the City Council against the wishes of the people and so our good work may fall into the hands of others." |
