Stuart Walton - Shadforth and Sherburn

Cllr. Stuart Walton was born to local parents from Sherburn and Sherburn Hill he married over 37 years ago to Sheila from Gilesgate. They have a daughter and son in law and 2 grand-daughters.

He was educated at Sherburn County Mixed School and Sherburn Secondary Modern for a year before leaving at 15. After a career encompassing sales management and customer service, Cllr. After 4 years and £120,000 of fund raising, Sherburn O.A.K. (Outdoor Action for Kids) was completed and officially opened by the kids.

Cllr. Walton’s main interest and focus is around trying to improve the quality of life for everyone by encouraging the re-establishment of community values and the sense of community and responsibility we had across all ages within the Villages and the City. He believes the first step is for all of us to talk to more people, both young and old.
